*MUSIC REVIEW - 'BUTTONWOOD TREE' CULTURAL PERFORMANCE CENTER, MIDDLETOWN CONNECTICUT. JUNE 29, 2012. ERIKA GAJDA July 4 2012.
" The infectious jazz band consisting of piano, drms(ruotolo), saxs', guitar,  bass, trombone and a Pandora's box of misc. rhythm instruments had many outsider's gravitating inside. His ardent band played an excellent array of jazz music including a jazz/funk/latin/hybrid to a Herbie Hancock cover and even "Misty" a romantic standard. As someone who is not particularly an expert on jazz, I can honestly say that the passionate performance by the artisits converted me into a fan of the live jazz. This was Ruotolo's third time playing at the Buttonwood Tree, and he did not fail to impress".
